Sequoyah State Park | First Campout
Well it was an adventure for sure. And we must have looked hilarious but it was a night to remember.
We thought we would camp somewhere around Tenkiller Lake but after many hours of going from campsite to campsite looking for an open bathroom we couldn't find anything. We ate lunch at a little cove before we headed over to at Ft. Gibson Lake at the Sequoyah State Park.
We actually stayed in eyesight of the same campsite where Grant proposed to me with a picnic 10 years ago the same week! The tent came straight out of the box and with a little luck we got it all set up in time for dinner.
The trees were a little close together but the hammock was still a hit! And fought over intensely.
We survived the night and went for a hike on the Fossil Trail. It just might be my favorite hike with the kids to date. So much to see and it was right along the rocky cliffs over the lake.

Luke found a buck skeleton. It was the coolest thing ever for the kids!

I am so so sad this isn't in focus (I tried the timer but missed on the focus). But I just couldn't leave it out. I love this boy!!!

The Fossil Trail starts and ends at the little Nature Center there at Sequoyah State Park. Animals are always a hit with our crew. Lots of great memories made on this trip and lots of practice being flexible with our plans :)
