Butterflies
Over Labor Day weekend we saw an advertisement for a Monarch Butterfly talk given at the Tulsa Botanical Garden. Our next thought was we have a botanical garden??? The program started in 35 minutes and we thought it would take about 45 to get there so we risked it and headed that way.
When we got there we realized why we had never heard of it. It's brand new... like really new. It is set in a beautiful location and in a few years will be a wonderful place to explore and visit.
We came in on the talk towards the end and wish we would have heard the whole thing. But realistically the kids wouldn't have sat still for very long. We did arrive in time to be in a drawing for a free chrysalis and Savannah won!
Afterwards they released a bunch of butterflies and looked for a chrysalis on the milkweed planted around the building.
Luke got his butterfly to stay on his finger for awhile before he turned and the wind caught him and off he flew.
When we got home Savannah opened her brown paper bag and we got our chrysalis all set up then we had a family lesson in waiting.... And we are still waiting for nature to do it's thing :)

Monarch Chrysalis apparently are decorated in GOLD sparkles! God does make the best designs! :) |
