DIY GIANT SLIP IN SLIDE

Last week I told my mom that I wondered how Caroline will do when it's snowing and we throw her down the hill at her house... at some point she has to think we are nuts and that her "new" people are just plain crazy.  It doesn't snow where she lived in China.  In fact they didn't even have heat just a 24 hour coat they kept on.  Anyways, talking about sledding put the idea in my head that it would be an awesome slip in slide.  If only we had large plastic tarps or something.

This is really all my mom needs because she is pretty awesome like that.  Next thing I knew we had an adventure day all set up.  She measured the hill with a generous landing pad and went off to Lowes to find this box of plastic sheeting 100 yards long by 10 feet wide.  Then tent stakes in the camping section at Walmart.  A little duct tape and a sprinkler and we were in business! She did mow the hill prior to putting the plastic down so nothing poked through and it was easier to climb up the hill.

Make sure to hammer the stakes in really well so no one gets scraped if they head off course.

This captures our first attempt and it's surprisingly not too shabby.  The fun floats are just fun and a challenge to stay on but if you want speed find the smallest circle tube (infant size) and go on that.  The hardest part is climbing back up the hill.... of course once at the top you won't be able to resist one more ride down.

Apparently a thrill seeker at heart.  Poor girl everyday is an adventure for her!

This little stinker wouldn't wait in line...if someone hesitated he went for it.  

Next time we do this we want the Daddies to be there!  I think this is fun for all ages it just depends on the size of the hill!  Luckily we had water hoses we could make reach this spot.  That is really the only hold back to making any great sledding hill an awesome summer slip in slide!
